Kapa Haka

 A couple of days ago we had something called kapa haka. Kapa haka is a range of different dances, our kapa haka Bracket is very cool... Click Here to see it. 

In the morning when I came to school I arrived and was a bit surprised when I saw everyone with their mokos on.  

So I put my bag and ran to get a good spot in the line. When I felt the cold wet black paint sitely touch my face I realized I had to get my second have of my moko on. Ring! The bell rang I sat down on the mat waiting for our teacher.  At last our teachers came. They told the boys that we had to take our t- shirts off. We lined up and walked into the hall.

Next we got into our Kapa Haka lines and started practicing a bit. Kia mo. Boom! The cameras were rolling. The first song was a song called Utaina, then ka waiata, E rona, ka panana and then the Haka! I was excited the boys marched forward and started doing the haka.

After that was Toia mai are last song when we finished singing Toia mai Caanen took his head phones off and we heard a huge clap from the teachers

So that was our amazing Kapa Haka Bracket. 

The Ilminster green team

The Ilminster Green team

On we went into ilminster to watch a play witch was made by the ilminster green team. Here it is... Nanny kora came up to tell a story to her grandchildren about littering. It was about four kids who were littering but then they heard a boom! A loud sound hit the earth aliens flooded the area one by one and started to littler their used items witch could be used again. 

After the aliens left the four kids came back again a said "Who litterd our planet". But then they saw a robot that the aliens threw away that was only a month in use. The kids asked the robot to ring it's leader to come down and pick up the rubbish they had dropped but instead of taking the rubbish back they dumped even more rubbish. The aliens left planet earth but then they got another call from the robot. 

The aliens came back but this time Nanny kora came out and the aliens thought Nanny kora was their leader so she played along with it and commanded them to pick up all the rubbish that they dropped so they did. After that Nanny kora told the kids to pick up the rubbish that they dropped. When they were finished they went back home to eat some food and then they bowed and then the play was over.

L3 Number

 L3 Number

In our workshop L3 number we are learning about paths. like triangle paths, square paths and more. You had to find a pattern. Like times three plus 1 and other ones too. In our Workshop it was fun because I learnt how to work out if I had Multiple sand pits. So that is what we did in or cool Workshop.

The Gillies cup

 Gillies Cup

Last week we had something called the Gillies Cup. It  was so fun. My team and I played at Mangapapa School in soccer. The goals were so small , but it's probably because I am used to big goals. When I looked at the other team the goalie stood out. He was so tall! We had are team talk under the tree because it was raining. After are talk the game started. I was subbed first and was warming up on the side lines. Beep! The whistle blew we finally started Jaxon ran up with the ball at his feet like a cheetah dribbling with the ball. Boom! It hit the back of the net. It was currently 1-0. 

The other team started off with the ball. They passed backwards to the center mid. The center mid dribbled up and past our center mid. Mangapapa dribbled past me and scored. After that we scored too then it was the second half. We ran to our coaches and sorted out our positions. Finally the second half started. I was in center back witch in the middle of the defenders. 

My team passed back to me and I booted it all the way up past half way. Jaxon got the ball and took a shot and missed but then Neko finished the job. My team took the ball off the other team and crossed it. Boom! We scored again. Me and my team new we were going to beat them by now. It was five minest till the end and then we scored again. The final whistle blew I collapsed to the ground. I landed in a puddle.  

Cross country

 Cross country

Today we had something called cross country. Cross country is a running race. In a cross country race you have to run uphill a lot. I will tell you about my race. Here it is...

Bang!!! I looked around is confusion all of the boys in my year started running so I followed then. At the start of the race I realised that was the start for the cross country. I sped up I was coming 5th. I went even faster up the sandy hill. I was finally coming 3rd. My friend Olly was in front of me and in front of him was Moss. Finally I passed Olly after 2 minutes. I brushed the sweat off of my forehead then got to my second lap. I tried to pass Moss but when I sped up he sped up too. 

We were half way through the second lap. I thought I was going to pass out. I felt as tired as a koala. I started to get slower and slower, but I new the finish line was just ahead. When the finish line was ahead I looked back. I saw Roy right behind me. I sprinted as hard as I could and I dove across the finish line coming 2nd place.

Mangaone Farm

 Mangaone Farm

This week I did a quick write about Mangaone Farm. It's a farm that we went to last week and had a really good time. Here it is.

Last week we went to a farm called Mangaone.

It was very warm there it felt like a heatwave on the beach. When we got there we went to plant trees on the wetlands. It was a hard job because you had to pull out all of the weeds around the tree like a tyre shape.

My best friend Jaxon and I planted twenty four trees in three hours. When we were done we ran as fast as we could to get our lunches and water. After that we had to go back again for another hour.

When I was putting a plant into the soil a tiny bug crawled up my arm. It felt like a worm going up my spine. So that is what we did at Mangaone farm.

Our Olympic booklet

 This week and last week we have been doing our Olympic Booklet. Our Olympic Booklet has 16 pages in it . In the Olympic Booklet you have to color some pages in. It has a crossword about Japan and also other stuff too! We also had to label where places are on google maps and had to label the name of the 2021 mascots Miraitowa and Someity, from the summer and winter Olympics 2021.  Here is a photo of my Olympic Booklet.

I learnt that they have Paralympics this week. The paralympics has people who have different abilities like blind, missing leg or arm and they are still so fast too!
